Welcome to the Minnesota Freeze
The Minnesota Freeze is an Australian Rules Football Club (otherwise known
as Footy). The team is comprised of players from various backgrounds and
nationalities.

2006 DIVISION II NATIONAL RUNNERS-UP
2005 DIVISION III NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
Capping off a fantastic season of Aussie Rules Footy, the Minnesota
Freeze traveled to Las Vegas to compete in the 2006 USAFL National
Tournament.
After winning Division III in 2005, one of the primary and driving
objectives for the 2006 year was to send a large contingent of players
to the US Footy Nationals in Las Vegas!
Our goal at Nationals was to prove ourselves as a worthy contender
in Division II with a team filled with talent and skill.
In an exciting and action packed weekend the Freeze team performed
beyond everyone’s expectations. They showed they are one of the
leagues best up and coming teams by beating all their opponents in
their respective pool to make it through to the championship game.
Unfortunately they finished runners-up as they were beaten on the day
by a classy Baltimore/Washington Eagles side.
The Freeze are extremely proud of the team’s effort both on and
off the field and wish to thank all their supporters, sponsors and
volunteers who helped achieve their success.
In addition, we aim to grow the game here in Minnesota by providing
the opportunity for anyone with an interest to learn more about the
sport and get out on the field. We encourage everyone to come down
to Lake Nokomis for our weekly training and join us for a kick. The
greater the numbers, the greater the game. The most important objective
is for the team to enjoy themselves.
Keep in mind that we are now in the off-season. Regular practice won't resume
until mid-April. We may get together for a few games of snow-footy over the
winter months. Watch this space for details.
Get outside, play the game with spirit and it will reward you with memorable
experiences
